Sandra has a more than 20 years track record in the financial sector as banker, general partner and investor in the VC space. She is Founder and Managing Partner at Cantera Capital, a venture capital fund with the strategy to invest in a global portfolio in disruptive start-ups. Previous to Cantera, Sandra was Managing Partner of SV Latam Fund, an innovation investment fund that invested in Mexico and US. Before entering the VC world, Sandra held different positions in the financial sector, all the way from credit ratings in her early years with S&P, investment banking at JP Morgan, equity, quasi-equity and debt structuring at the World Bank GroupĀ“s private arm (IFC), where she was Sector Leader for the Health and Education sectors, and led multidisciplinary teams of lawyers, technical specialists, and finance professionals. Sandra is also a business mentor for early stage founders in her networks, an active participant in Mexico’s private equity industry, and member of the select group “Top Women Investing in Latin American Tech” of the Latin American Venture Capital Association. She is also a retired actress who hopes to come back to scene someday, a happy mother of two kids, and a swimmer and jogger in the early hours of the day.
